We're using the latest b3 release. b3 is reading our game log remotely. It is reading the log just fine - all connections are ok, but it still will not respond to commands. All over our b3.log reads something like this:
Quote
100522 10:49:18   VERBOSE   RCON sending (66.225.198.67:28960) PB_SV_PList
100522 10:49:18   DEBUG   iris (NL) found in status/playerList
100522 10:49:18   DEBUG   sp: {'slot': '9', 'status': 'INIT', 'name': 'iris (NL)', 'power': '1', 'ss': '0', 'ip': '86.83.87.121', 'auth': '0.0', 'pbid': 'b846d808f7ace47158b55573652a042', 'guid': 'b846d808f7ace47158b55573652a042', 'os': ' ', 'port': '55815'}
100522 10:49:18   DEBUG   PB-id is not valid! Giving it another try.

Noticing PB-id is not valid makes me wonder if the latest bot works ok with CoD2 1.2 GUID's or if you'll even support something on an outdated patch. Note, that 1.2.1 bot worked fine with 1.2 patch CoD2.

If you take a closer look at the pbid you'll see that the punkbuster id is 31 characters long. A valid pbid is always 32 characters long, so the one you are referring to is indeed not valid.

It also states that it is giving it another try, does that next round for authentication provide a valid pbid for the same player?

What I see here is that the parser is working just fine.

Correct you are. I know that the notes with the 1.3 patch state "addresses the PunkBuster GUID issue where players were not being assigned PunkBuster GUID's of exactly 32 characters." 1.2 seems to indeed be the case, however it's interesting that 1.2.1 b3 worked on 1.2 Patch of CoD2. I'll have to play with it some more or go back to 1.2.1 b3 bot. Thanks for catching that!

Dear B3 development team,

I recently installed b3 (1.3.2) for a cod2 server using 1.2 patch (PB on).
since 1.3.1 of B3 pukbusterguids guid must be 32 long.
This is correct, but may you can put in the b3.xml a option to undo this, so cod2 1.2 also can run on PB servers running b3 1.3.1+?

example
Code:
<set name="punkbuster_guidlength_check">off</set>

Latest B3 version in my repo has an exception in the cod2 parser for version 1.2 that allows pb-id's from 30 to 32 characters. There was another topic where we also dealt with this issue. Download my current repository version and try again.
