Ok, I have reverted to the original clients.py file.

It still seems to be working ok, although it did glitch once. I have not been able to recreate the problem though (may have been caused by issuing commands before the bot had fully started up).

The patch will fix the issue for most events. But since the game still gives us sanitized names on say and sayteam lines it is clear that it can glitch on certain combinations of events.

Here's a scenario: player is connected and changes his name. When he uses chat straight after the namechange, his sanitized name will be saved. When he gets damaged or killed (and the colorcodes are again available) the colored name will then saved instead.

So that's a scenario where you might see a glitch.

I see what you mean.

It should be fine how it is now for my needs.

There was something else in the cod parser that I wanted to change, but I'll start a new thread about that.

Having been running the modified parser on our server for the past couple of days the success rate in retaining colour codes is about 85%.
