mysql address?
« on: February 27, 2014, 11:55:46 PM »
Can someone please tell me how to get the address to a mysql address.  I am trying to setup echelonv2 but using the ip doesn't work and I'm not sure where to find this info.

Well that really depends on who is who is hosting your b3.  If you are hosting on the same computer that the b3 is on it is localhost or 127.0.0.1.  If you have a host then you will need to
contact them and see if they will provide you with the ip address to your b3 server.

I am hosting the B3 bot on a seperate server from where I am installing echelon.  I have the ip address to the bot server and echelon keeps coming back with an error of database cannot be accessed with the info given or something close to that.

Firewall issue? Or mysql not set up correctly to accept connections from an IP other than 127.0.0.1

I would look more at the external IP address as the issue.

I think Bravo17 hit the nail on the head. Try setting up mysql to accept external connections...here's a little tip to help.

Where:
mysql username = b3user
mysql password = b3pass
b3 database = b3_db

Enter the mysql code:
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON b3_db TO 'b3user'@'%' IDENTIFIED BY 'b3pass' WITH GRANT OPTION;

Just change the username, password and database to the ones that already exists.

Have fun!
:)
