Hi all,
Im new here.Since yesterday I had have b3 installed on my red orchestra 2 server (by hosting company) and I need your help.I`ve  searched tutorials already and havnt found exactly what i need maybe because they are seem to be written for a bit advanced usere then me.
So I have bot on the server started and access to ftp where I found xml config files.
I can copy their addresses to clipboard and open them in my browser. And that`s it.
My questions:
1.How to edit xml files and upload them to the server?
2.How to make changes?Which part of the code should be edited - how do I recognize changable bits?
3.Plugins - I bet you edit it in b3.xml and I saw there many of them. Question is how to enable them - for example pingwatch.xml - how should look this line in b3.xml to make it active ar deactive?

1. Download and use Notepad ++, it can check that your xml syntax is correct
2. You would need to edit the VALUES in the xml files, not the settings ie

<set name=setting>VALUE</set>

3. The lines are commented out by placing <!-- at the start and --> at the end. Remove those to activate the lines.

If you run into trouble, post your xml, but make sure to remove passwords first.

For a slight bit more help, here is a FTP tutorial. This would be how you download the files and re upload them after making changes.

http://www.host4b3.com/2010/12/using-a-ftp-client/

Plugins like Pingwatch are enabled in the b3.xml by default. In fact, when editing the b3.xml with notepad++, all plugins not showing in green are enabled (unless it has disabled=yes in the name)

If a plugin is not listed there, then it is not installed.

To disable a plugin just remove the line or asa Bravo said comment it out.

Thanks you both!
That`s very helpful!
I menaged to edit and upload modified b3.xml file back to the server and restarted the bot.
I uncommented welcome plugin and checked syntax using notepad++. All fine but server doesnt welcome players, censor plugin which is also enabled doesnt work too.
How do I know if my bot works or not?
Im attaching my b3.xml file

If you type !help and B3 doesn't respond, that means it's not reading your server log. Check your log URL to be sure it's correct and make sure your log is showing your commands. After you type !help, go into your server log and see if the !log is listed there. If not, the log isn't working. If it is, B3 isn't reading it.

RO2 doesn't have a log file in the traditional B3 sense, it reads all the info through the Web Admin interface.

You have the rcon port set to 2121, which is not the default port - are you sure that this is correct? This is the port that you use to connect the web admin tool.

You need to make sure that the web admin is enabled and working before B3 can connect to it and function.
