I think it may use some sort of hardware checksum, but idk for sure.

Not sure but probably UrT 4.2 will have the ability to use the new UAA-portal system for guids, if admins decide to activate it.

It will enable players to use unique guids across servers. It is currently in a closed Beta stage.
