Hi, I recently bought a new cod4 gameserver on xgservers.co.uk.
I had one there a couple of months ago and I got b3 running on my home server and working with the paid gameserver.

Now I have installed b3 again on my homeserver but it doesn't seem to run.
I checked the log and everything seemed okay except for an error with the ftpytail plugin.

The plugin can't connect to the ftp server. I tried everything for the game_log var in conf/b3.xml like '%20' instead of spaces, different ftp users, directions with /.../,
sftp://..., but none of them seem to work, I know the user and pass and ip or something like that is not wrong, because I have tested them.

Now I think that maybe ftpytail doesn't support sftp?

on the other hand, my b3 runs fine, seeing it says one thing in the server when b3 is started, but it doesn't welcome ppl and commands are not working.
Oh and btw, when b3 is starting it checks for the games_log and there seems to be nothing wrong, untill the ftpytail plugin is starting.
I installed on linux this time with the .egg

B3 does not support sftp. Only ftp.

If you are courageous, you can be my guinea pig for SFTP support in B3.

If you want to give a try to B3 over SFTP, use my dev version

You will need to install B3 from sources after having installed all dependencies as described in our documentation.
Note that SFTP support adds two dependencies :

• pycrypto (can be downloaded at http://www.voidspace.org.uk/python/modules.shtml#pycrypto)
• paramiko

SFTP support in B3 is very experimental and you will be the only and first user to try it at first.

Ok, I tried your dev version, installed de 2 dependencies but I still get the same error.
Then it came to mind that I don't think my gameserver provider doesn't use sftp but just uses port 22, so I tested this out with filezilla and yes, I cannot connect to the server over sftp://

I've tried sftp:// in firefox and filezilla and it doens't work so it's normal ftp

over at xgservers they think it has something do to with the spaces in the ftp path, they are gonna give me a different ftp setup to see if that works

This error excludes any issue regarding path. The server you are connecting to refused the connection even before starting any FTP related stuff.

I suppose the reason is one of :

• server ip is wrong
• server port is wrong
• your IP is blacklisted by the server firewall
• the firewall on the machine running B3 forbid outgoing connections toward your server ip
• the firewall on the machine running B3 forbid outgoing connections toward the server port

are you running the bot from the same computer than the one you tested with IE/FF/filezilla on ?

it's a different computer but the same wan ip.
I have now tested on the same computer with the linux command ftp and while in the ftp utility I've ran:
ftp> open 217.146.84.245 22
This commands opens a connection to the ftp server and ftp> open 217.146.84.245 gives me the error connection refused.

So this looks like B3 is trying to connect on port 21 despite you specified 22...

Ok, I've replaced the old ftpytail.py with the new one from your dev version, looked through the log and saw a couple of errors, but after the errors, is saw ftpytail getting the remote file size of the log so that's great
