An update. Between myself and the GSP we have managed to get the game file updating in real time properly.

However there is a dramatic difference in the performance between FTP and HTTP log retrieval methods.

With the HTTP method there is a significant delay in the bot responding even though the HTTP log is reflecting realtime game activity when i check it and updating as each event occurs.

The FTPtail method works perfect however when I tried it and there is no delay between the log being updated and the bot responding to commands.

I am attaching the logs I got from each method for your consideration.

Thanks.

I can't reproduce those lags with my webserver.

This might be your webserver caching the log file or something similar as you said that it works flowlessly with FTP (even if not shown in the provided log file)

I might add that the B3 server I am using is also running several BO beta bots (which use the HTTP obviously) without any issue.

I will pass this on to the GSP although it seems odd that when i manually download the log it is updated everytime.

Thanks

well B3 does not download the file at first. It just ask the webserver the current log file size. Only if the size has grown, then B3 ask for just the new part of the log file.

This is supposed to be lighter on the webserver side and saves lots of bandwith

Okay, so then if the game server isn't updating the file size attribute fast enough it believes nothing has been added.

This might be. I had no problem using a apache2 webserver. I never tested with IIS

Also, the COD7 http reader is different, and so is the server providing the files. It's specifically set up to work as a log 'feeder', the site that you are using most likely isn't.
