Hi guys,

I've successfully installed B3 on one of our CentOS boxes, however, I'm having to run it as root otherwise I run into some file permissions re the logs.  Is this normal or should I have installed it under a specific account e.g. b3

Thanks

I'm not familiar with CentOS but there are a couple of topic about CentOS somewhere in the forums.

Regarding files permission, it looks odd to me that you would need to run the bot as root. I would prefer having a user dedicated for running the bot.

B3 only needs write permission for the b3.log file and the location of that files depend of that you chose in your b3.xml file.

Also if you B3 is reading game server log files through HTTP/FTP/SFTP, then a local copy of the game server log file is created in the b3 folder (if I'm not mistaken)

On ubuntu anyhow, you could chmod -R 777 the folder that b3 is in. This makes b3 and all folders inside editable by all users/groups.
