I have searched the Google and bigbrotherbot forums for a couple of hours now - didn't find a solution for my problem. FAQ and everything is checked and AFAIK every config file is correct.

I am using my own cod2 dedicated Linux server on which I am trying to install B3. I am using cod2 with the eXtreme+ 2.7 mod.

My b3.xml has the correct games_mp.log, which is updating during the game.
Everything at the "FAQ:Why does B3 not respond to my commands?" is already checked.

The problem I'm having is quite the same as with others here: B3 is saying some stuff at the game, but is not responding to any commands.

b3.xml
b3.log
games_mp_log
plugin_admin.xml

Could the problem lay on eXtreme+ mod? Is it logging events differently than the original game? Unfortunately I am unable to start the server without the mod.

I also tried to add myself manually to the database, but since I actually haven't seen what the correct values there are I just guessed and it didn't give me any results either.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

you have CONSOLE messages in your b3.log which means that B3 was able to read the content of your game log.

Now from the warnings in the b3.log we can see at least two issues :
1 - B3 is unable to identify players as they have no guid and no punkbuster id
2 - the game log file contains lines that B3 does not recognize

I'm afraid that mod is not compatible with the B3 cod2 parser

Thank you for responding so quickly.

Do you have any idea why the players don't have no guid? What could I do to fix that?
Punkbuster - I really would like to not use it.

I never run a cod server and don't know much about it... even less with cod mods. I have no idea why your mod is not providing guid

You may have more luck if you use Punkbuster, that should provide you with guids.

Ok, I gave it a try with punkbuster turned on.
The log file now gave different responses, but the ingame commands still did not work.

b3.log with punkbuster turned on (I removed the part until I said !register on the game)

Can you try without the mod, and see if that works, and if not paste the whole b3 log.

Note: You will probably need to point B3 to a different game log location.

first are you sure that the path for your game is right ??

/home/pihus/.callofduty2/e27/games_mp.log

There is a . in it

As i see, your server is on your computer. Am i right ??

So in this case, change the ip rcon by your computer IP and try again.

All the paths are correct. Dot is there because it's a hidden file in my home folder. There is absolutely no doubt that the paths are correct.

I've tried 127.0.0.1 as well as my LAN ip (192.168.1.69) as the rcon ip. The IP's are also correct.

Really, there is something deeper here than just a config typo. I will try the game without the mod as soon as possible.

I seem to remember that cod2 (at least the Windows version) didn't give guids on a local network, so that may also be part of the problem.

Can you try using the external network address and see if that makes a difference. You may need to get someone else to test that, as some routers will not 'externalize'(?) your external IP correctly.

I don't seem to get GUIDs at all. Every player online (LAN or outside, doesn't matter) has GUID 0.
I don't have much experience with bigbrotherbot, would missing GUIDs be fatal? Can't it use the player names instead?

// Could GUIDs be missing because I'm not using punkbuster? The damn thing bans users too much, specially when they have umlauts in their names.

Missing GUIDs would be fatal.
As for using names, well, anyone could change their name and all the sudden be admin...
