RFC 432432 tells us there are too many RFC's
WWW
« on: November 16, 2011, 12:12:42 PM »

We got some" fun" guys with empty guids(and a whole arsenal of hacks) joining our server.
They are exploiting the no-guid "feature" in CoD4 1.7 which makes them unbannable by RCon etc.
Question is, are clients with empty guids put in the python client list at all or do they stay unauthorized?
Why im asking is because i want to make an automated plugin(or edit source code if i have to) that would put anyone that is without a guid on one of our master banlists.
Thanks, ArmedGuy.

We don't run PB due to us not liking it, and it not liking us(easy guess why).
Im trying to figure out a way to automatically get these people off the server as im not always on to manually ban them when they come on.
What i need is a way to detect them, and get their ip's.
As they are not authorized i wont be able to write a plugin for it.
Any other ideas? =)

Couldn't we change the cod4 parser to recognize clients with 32 OR 0 length guids?

I already have a plugin made that kicks a user if their GUID length isnt X characters, but it doesn't work for 0 obviously.

It does work if i change desired guid length to anything other than 32. If there's a way to get b3 to at least recognize that 0 length GUID i'll post the plugin for everyone to use.

Cod4 parser for those who dont have it downloaded

We dont have to make b3 do anything else other than recognize those as clients, as I already have the rest of the work finished.

There exist a dvar called: sv_allowanonymous
This dvar seems to decide whether players GUIDs get verified with masterserver or not. When you run a server with overrided authentification nothing is working anymore of course.

I just done a little researching and sv_allowanonymous doesn't seem to have anything to do with cd-keys.
