I am confused.

Because banning 187.0.0.0 works in urbanterror but from what I can tell it doesn't work in b3 with the banlist plugin...

I have set up in the new rangebanlist.txt called by the banlist plugin every ip from:
187.1.0.0 - 187.255.0.0
and that doesn't keep them out. Does this only work on the last decimal of the ip? If so this doesn't really help my situation any because the last decimal is not the issue... it starts from the second on

Have you given up on me and my delima?

Thank you in advance for all of the help you are giving

you would have to make a banlist file containing :

Code: [Select]
187.1.0.0
187.1.1.0
187.1.2.0
...
187.2.0.0
187.2.1.0
...
187.255.0.0
187.255.1.0
187.255.2.0
...
187.255.255.0

I guess I celebrated prematurely.

the whitelist does not allow an IP through that banlist

189.152.91.0 in the banlist
189.152.91.1 in the whitelist

player kicked

it is set to yes but the 189.152.91.1 in the whitelist doesn't overide the ip 189.152.91.0 in the 189rangebanlist.txt

the plugin first try to find the player in one of the whitelist. If found it does not check the black lists.

you should have in your b3.log : checking slot: blablabla
then "blabla Found in whitelist" or "blabla  Found in banlist"

could you show your b3.log where we can see that ?

The whitelist feature of this plugin is just to make exceptions for guid/ip that would be kicked by a banlist.

You cannot enforce just a whitelist with this plugin

Am I getting this right:

When I whitelist a gid from BO, the player will still be confronted with the b3 tempbans? I'm trying to exclude some GIDs of my friends so they don't get banned.

the banlist plugin is for enforcing banlist which from 3rd parties.

This plugin has nothing to do with internal B3 bans. So if a guys in in the whitelist from the banlist plugin but has B3 bans then B3 bans still applies

HUH?

so you are saying that if he is on a banlist designed for your banlist plugin..... the whitelist will not allow him through?

What's the purpose of a whitelist if it doesn't let him through?

I do not have his I.P. banned through Urban Terror.... it  is in a range that is read by YOUR banlist plugin.

I don't understand

how is someone banned by b3? are you talking about tempbans? I do not ban through b3... I ban through urban terror and your banlist. The person I have been mentioning is not banned in urban terror ONLY on the 189rangebanlist.txt with the range I mentioned above.

I know you have asked for the b3 log showing this but it has rolled since then and it is no longer retrievable. however I was on when it kicked him and it registered it in the penalties table

id= 195, type=kick, client_id=12802, BANLISTED [189 Range Banlist] 189.152.91.1

This was after I set up the entire IP lists as you instructed and added his ip to the whitelist

here is the entry in banlist.xml:
Quote
<ip_banlist>
           <name>189 Range Banlist</name>
           <file>/home/banlists/189rangebanlist.txt</file>
           <force_ip_range>yes</force_ip_range>
           <message>^4$name^7 is ^1BANNED^7 (is ^5in the 189 range banlist)</message>
</ip_banlist>

here is the entry for the whitelist:
Quote
<ip_whitelist>
           <name>friends</name>
           <file>/home/banlists/ipwhitelist.txt</file>
           <force_ip_range>no</force_ip_range>
           <message>^[email protected]^7 found in friends list</message>
</ip_whitelist>
