Is it possible to have some sort of log file for this? Just something that will log what all logged in admins are saying and executing. Or is it possible to make it log to that client's details? Like all commands and such would show up in echelon under them.

For some reason ours isn't logging at all, but is executing.

if you kick someone with telnet, you should have a new line in the "penalty" table in MySQL. Could you check that ?

Ahh, alright. It's logging penalties, but shouldn't it log what they're saying as well in the chat log?

What he means is that he wants anything and everything logged into the chatlog as well using the chatlogger plugin. Since it's already linked to a specific user in the database, i guess there should be no problem to link whatever is said, right?

This is what happens when he telnets and talks in comparison to the above. (the above is of course a player just chatting on the server and such, not that i need to explain that to you)

So say events originating from the telnet plugin seems not to reach up to the chatlogger plugin   ???

Unfortunately I have no time to spend on the telnet plugin. I will however welcome, review and release any patch fixing that matter.

Ok, well that i do understand.

I just noticed now that it does not show teamchat either in putty. It does state what people say in global chat, whether they are dead or not, but it doesn't show individual team chat.

Being the noob that i am tho, i'm going to read through to see what the plugin actually does.
But since we are linking database entries with admin powers and such, i expected it to also to log to chatlogger.
But, i'm going to just do something random and stupid and try to set telnet to have less priority than chatlogger and see what that does.

***Edit***

Sorry I'm an idiot. I forgot to hash the password before entering it in the database.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hmm I can't seem to login. I get an error saying "bad user id or password"

I have set the password in the database manually. I have tried it with multiple user id's as well and get the same problem. I am running B3 v1.8.0dev2.

When I look at the B3 log I can see where the TelnetPlugin is logging my ip when I try to connect.
The only thing I think might be different than a "normal" setup is that our database is remote.

you cannot use the password plugin with BF3 because there is no private message capabilities in this game.

You have to set the password by editing your database with PhpMyAdmin or any other MySQL client you are used to.

Remember that the md5 hashing function must be applied to your password before saving it to database. You can use on-line md5 services to compute the hash of your password.
