I never tried that simply because the banlist plugin only reads admin made lists of I.P.'s or GUID's it doesn't ban anyone.

Something is running due to this plugin that doesn't make sense.

It works great other than it refuses to do it right and it refuses to stop once removed.

I understand that. However, just for the sake of trying, can you disable the banlist plugin and see if it still does it?

Also, the database table is all that stores id's...

And a few other things:
1) Update b3 to latest version (1.5.0)
2) Is log level set to 9?

okay removed everything once again and also commented out the banlist plugin and same result.

I understand that the database is where the data is supposed to be stored but something isn't adding up here an something is still running in process or something that is causing this thing to continue to run even though it is all deleted.

1) do I really have to?

1) do I really have to?
2) yes it is
1) You don't, however B3 Devs will only support the latest version.

My idea behind the banlist plugin was if you were using it to enforce the bans across multiple servers, well, it could be pulling the old ban from another server.

I have one last idea (I hope you have phpmyadmin and know how to use it).

Can you look in the penalties table list all the penalties he has? Specifically looking for one with ban and inactive set to 0. That could cause this...

What happens if B3 isn't running, are they still banned?  If so, then they have been banned outside of B3.

The log shows B3 enforcing the ban...

I looked in the database under penalties and found an entry for all of my members that were having trouble. The entry was "ban" from tagprotect and I removed that entry for all of them.

Are you saying that even though I removed the plugin the penalty was remembering it and where it came from and enforcing it over and over?

I did stop the b3 bot from running and no members have been on yet to try it but I am sure it will not ban them if it is off.

I will see what happens when one comes back on and I restart the bot with the penalties removed.

Let us know...

And yes, if B3 has them banned, regardless of why, they will be banned until they are unbanned....

Still noone yet but I am betting this was the solution.

Question #2 while waiting for confirmation.....

If it immediately bans people using the tag..... how can I register the members with !addct <namehere>? I could register myself but it doesn't mess with me as the superadmin.

Without looking at the plugin, could you try !addct @9 to protect client 9? !lookup name to get the @number?
idk?

Also, instead of modifying the db with phpmyadmin, try !unban @number...

yea there are several different ways to unban the IP but if I try to register them when they are not in the server it says there is no user with that name or something like that. But I can't register them while on becasue it kept banning them right away.

we will see once someone cames on to confirm things.

thanks for all of your help

why don't you set banactived to No in you config file so they are just kicked instead of banned ?

Code: [Select]
<set name="banactived">no</set>

I will try those things when a member finally comes back on the server.
