hi everyone, im a really n00b on this, so im asking around if there is a plugin that will kick, or even better, bann kids that come into my server just to rename other players , any help will be greatly appreciated!!!!!

lol i have no idea :S; but i do know that many times, im in the server, and im "killing my self", because of rename, and its very hard to find out who is the player renaming others players, since that "kid" also renames his, so, if there is a way to stop this, it would be so helpful!!!

That is a hack. That its very hard to work MEH i use php rcon cause it lists him unlike agrcon and or rcontool :]

If you do !list, it should show you the slot the player is on, the clientslot remains the same across namechanges.

yes, but by the time i do !list, at least 6-8 players have been renamed, so how to figured out who is the one renaming? so i was wondering if there is a code that, the same way that disables gl for example, would there be some other that will kick who ever is renaming, as i would think that the game sistem will recognize this change from a players

Is it changing the names of OTHER players, or is it taking other players names, I've seen the latter, I've not seen a cheat changing other players names...

If a player can rename other players it is a pretty big security breach on the server. If a gameserver is compromised that bad, B3 will be futile. Are you absolutely sure that he is renaming OTHER players?

I made some mods for cod and cod2 in the past and changing playernames was possible, but only through the gameserver, with a clientside mod, and you would need the rcon password to send the rename order to another client.

yes, its one players renaming others, and i doubt that who ever does it, has the rcon, plus, i have seen it on dedicated server, payed servers, not only on mine, so i dont know what kinda security would be good

If you think your gameserver maybe not be secure then I suggest you contact your game server provider. Change your ftp/ssh/or whatever connection you make the gs password and your rcon password. Also if your gameserver provider supplies you with a control panel change the password on that too.

I suggest you pull the gameserver logs from the time any of events happened. Lets see whats going on.

I'm not sure if this will help but have you looked at XLR's dupe name plugin. http://www.bigbrotherbot.com/forums/xlr-releases/duplicate-name-control/

If you run punkbuster on your server there are some settings that stop people changing their name more than X number of times with X number of minutes. You should be able to find the settings easily enough on the Punkbuster website.

The gameserver logs are what we really need, hope this helps.
