But from what I gather, the " : " in the user directory is our problem?
 
Has any one found a work around, I have been going round and round with them. Asking for games.log to be pointed to the first directory, or to make the user account 2 folders deeper.

or could ftpytail be broke?

you should configure your mysql database with phpmyadmin which comes with xampp. There are plenty of great tutorials on how to set up a mysql user with phpmyadmin. Don't forget to flush the privileges on the main phpmyadmin page after you created your mysql user.
