!paset g_gametype dm

Theoretically, this should work right? In the config, we only run SD but sometimes we want to run DM. Im no dummy, but I cant get this to work and Im not understanding what/how cod2 needs to get this to work? If I run a !paget g_gametype after I set it, it comes back as value=SD, default=dm

I can set other CVARs no problem.

Anything I need to be mindful of?

the gametype is changed after a maprotate and your maprotation could also hold the gametype, overriding your manual entered setting.

try !paset g_gametype "dm" followed by a !map <mapname> NOT a maprotate. Then check your maprotation

I need to go home and test this.

The original reason why I posted this was actually a sidebar to a different issue I was having. I have 4 different configs on the server and want to do an "!exec config.cfg" to run different styles of gameplay when the mood strikes us differently. I started down the road of "!paset g_gametype" as a mere debugging method to ensure I could actually get the gametype to change from B3. I feel that I'm running into 2 different issues from doing a single gametype change versus an actual gametype change from a different config.

I will try your suggestion above to make sure that you are correct in that doing a map_rotate will switch the gametype back to what the original map rotation dictates (IE: the next gametype in the rotation).

I might have more questions as it relates to doing the !exec command after I test this...
